New Research Group in Institute of Oriental Studies RAS
In early March 2026, Research Group of Studying the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was established by decision of the Academic Council of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The main purpose was to develop a comprehensive and systematic study of the history and current state of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
On March 11, 2026, the first meeting of the Research Group was held, during which priority tasks for the year were identified, including conducting an online lecture series on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in collaboration with Tyumen State University, preparing a series of joint academic publications on the current dynamics of the conflict, and more.
The Research Group included key experts on the conflict from Center for Arab and Islamic Studies, Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Department of Israel and Jewish Communities, Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences:
